Towel Care:

  1. The first wash should be a hot wash followed by a cold rinse. This has the effect of shrinking the product slightly and locking the fabric loops together.
  2. A generous amount of detergent should be used in this first wash to remove the dressing from the towel.
  3. Take care not to 'pull' the fabric prior to the first wash. If loose threads are present, these can be trimmed.

Following the first wash, towels can be washed and rinsed in luke warm water.

  1. Tumble drying is the recommended way to dry towels as this tends to fluff up the pile of the fabric. Caution: overdrying towels will leave the towel with a harsh, dry feeling and will cause unnessary wear to the edges.
  2. Ensure rinsing occurs several times during washing to fully remove soaps & detergents etc - inadequate rinsing will reduce the life of the towel.
  3. Avoid overloading the washing machine as this leads to inadequate washing and rinsing which will reduce the life of the towel. Conversely, underloading machines can cause unnessary wear on the product.
  4. Check your laundry equipment regularly.  Even small 'nicks' in machinery can cause 'pulling' to the fabric. Nicks in the wash bowl or tumble dryer are the most common reason for fabric pulls. Pulled pile can be trimmed.
  5. Absolutely avoid any contact with cleaning or bleaching products particulary exit mould type cleaners. Even residual from some cleaners can cause bleaching and discolouration to the towel. This will also reduce the life of the fabric.
  6. Rinsing pool towels after use will help to avoid colour loss through the towels contact with pool chemicals and sunlight.
  7. Do not leave wet towels on concrete floors or timber as this is likely to cause staining to the towel.
  8. Coloured/dyed towels should be washed separately, especially dark colours like navy, forest, esspresso.
  9. Damage to the colouring and strength of towel fabric can be caused by exposure to both direct and indirect sunlight.

Sheet Care:
Initial Care
  1. For 100% cotton sheeting, the first wash should be a hot wash - 80 degrees plus if possible and a generous amount of detergent should be used in this first wash to remove the dressing from the sheet.
  2. Polycotton sheets do not need this initial hot wash however the wash cycle should not vary by more than 20 degrees to avoid damaging the sheeting.
  1. Sheet fibres can become dry and brittle if tumble dried at too hot a temperature or for too long, resulting in damage and excessive creasing.
  2. When washing and drying sheets, don't overload the machines. This will help to avoid 'greying' and excessive creasing of the fabric.
  3. Keep sheets and towels stored in a dry area without direct sunlight to avoid discolourisation and mildew.
  4. Exposure to and contact with bleach will result in discolourisation of the sheet.
  5. Washed coloured sheeting seperately and wash darker colours like forest and navy seperate from lighter coloured sheets.
